I have over a decade of experience working with and supporting individuals from various backgrounds to uncover and progress towards their career goals. Simultaneously, I have spent over five years helping to start up multiple companies before opening Dynamic Foundations Institute in 2018.
Throughout my career, I have encountered many people that have told me “No” in one form or another, whether to promotions or new opportunities. I have learned to take their “No” and turn it into my own “Yes.” I believe that when we wake up anew each day, we have a chance to live life to the fullest and on our terms. I get to decide who I would like to talk to, whether I want to wear a business suit or jeans and sneakers, or whether I would like to eat pizza while on my diet. I think that life should be progressively fun. Always set goals and progress towards meeting them but stop and laugh and maybe even dance while doing it.
I am not a person born into high society; however, I do love fashion so, I just might look like it sometimes. I was born and raised in Carrollton, Mississippi, a small rural town. Here is where my parents taught my two sisters and me to value people. We were taught that it does not matter where someone comes from or what they look like; it is their character that matters. I still live by this today. Although there are limited economic resources, Mississippi has a beautiful array of people that are always willing to help and have a good conversation. For some odd reason, I really see this when I return and visit the local grocery stores. Strangers randomly approach me and have a 10-minute conversation. We discuss all manner of topics. This “never meet a stranger” approach has continued now that I live in North Texas. People love talking with me, and I love listening and talking with them. Often, they happen to tell me a problem, and together we create an implementable solution. I am a natural problem-solver whose purpose in life is to help others fulfill their dreams.
I hold a BA degree in Management from the University of Mississippi and an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of North Texas. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I began working at a Fortune 500 company where I have spent time working in Human Resources supporting employees with professional and personal issues. Additionally, I have been a hands-on project manager helping to start up multimillion and billion-dollar companies in the US and Mexico. I have learned how to mold all my experience into a strategy to help entrepreneurs and small business owners. I have written various publications on entrepreneurship and am the author of 8 Proven Strategies to Enhance Your Small Business During A Down Economy. When I am not working, I enjoy enhancing my relationship with God, spending time with my family and friends, reading science fiction novels, and eating great food.
